The Francesco’s development will replace the existing Fishman’s Dry Cleaning building located at 615 17th Ave SW. Development plans are for a mixed-use structure that will enhance the surrounding residential community of Cliff Bungalow. The design will incorporate pedestrian oriented front-facing townhomes on 5A street, multi-family residences above and commercial amenities facing 17th Ave. Our goal is to blend with the existing architecture while enhancing the amenities available – creating vibrancy for the community stakeholders
Fishman’s Dry Cleaning is a third-generation business which dates back to 1945, when Jack and Lily Fishman established it as Economy Cleaners. Twenty years later, the family bought the iconic 17th Ave & 5A street location and became the trusted dry cleaners for inner city Calgarians. In Calgary, we do not drop our clothes off at the dry cleaners – we drop them off at Fishman’s. Arlington will continue the legacy that the Fishman’s have brought to the area, of exceptional services and community engagement, by providing the surrounding stakeholders with beautiful architecture and commercial amenities that will enhance their existing lifestyles.
Arlington Group has begun initial planning for its newly proposed Francesco’s Redevelopment Project. Once built, the project is envisioned to transform this prominent section of 17th Avenue.
